Active Travel is travelling with a purpose using your own energy which usually means walking or cycling as part of a journey. Fingal County Council is working to build Active Travel into everyday life as part of normal daily routines. We are investing in infrastructure and initiatives designed to promote Active Travel. Protected cycle lanes are one of a series of measures we are installing to make walking and cycling safer and more attractive for people of all ages across Fingal.

The Healthy Age Friendly Homes Programme aims to support older people (aged 65 and over) to live in their own home with dignity and independence, for as long as possible. The programme’s ambition is to enable everyone to live longer healthier lives by keeping care close to home and expanding the range of health and social care services in the community.  It is about providing a range of alternatives for older people who may otherwise transition into long term residential care prematurely. 

Fingal County Council Integration Office is committed to social inclusion and works towards enhancing the quality of life for all the county's residents as Fingal continues to grow. Our goals are to support those experiencing barriers that lead to social exclusion, to promote an understanding of inclusion and celebrate diversity across the county.

Fingal LEADER Partnership CLG run several programmes promoting social inclusion, providing supports for enterprise development and employment creation, providing education opportunities, reducing climate change, and assisting community groups to find local solutions to local problems.
